Specific Need

Current Projects

• Infield Dirt Replacement - We have a source of dirt and sand but need to hire a truck and loader to transport the dirt across town to Campbell Field.
• Foul ground - Kill weeds, level out high spots, and reseed.
• Build & install an outfield fence gate.
• Mounted metal mesh box for sprinkler controls and outlet.
• Lockable hinged cover for the sprinkler valve pit.

Future Projects

• Oran Erickson Memorial Flag Garden behind the left-center outfield fence. Install a quality flagpole, pressed concrete patio, and a few benches.
• Backstop replacement - The wood backstop is getting in bad shape. We'd like to replace it with a backstop built with black steel posts set at standard intervals for standard wooden boards so future maintenance/replacement can be simply unfastening a bad board and bolting a new board on.
• Rebuild the chain link fence along the left field and right field lines from the dugouts to the corners.

Mission

Clay Center Baseball’s Campbell Field Improvement Committee is a community-driven effort to establish Kelly Campbell Field as a safe, playable high school baseball facility and allow it to continue as part of Clay Center’s tradition-rich sports complex with Otto Unruh Stadium.
