Clay Center Parks & Recreation

Specific Need

The Clay Center Parks & Recreation department strives to provide a variety of programs for all ages and establish great facilities for the public to use and enjoy. We have made great improvements to both our athletic facilities and area parks in recent years. Projects such as new playground equipment as various parks, new basketball and pickleball courts, new sound system at the Rundle-Brown Athletic facility, sprinkler systems on our athletic fields, and most recently a new wiffle ball field at Reed Park. We have a long list of projects we'd like to accomplish in the coming years and with your help, we hope to do them all. Some of the major wish list items include new field lighting for multiple fields/facilities, new basketball goals and painted court at Dexter Park, and improvements to the disc golf courses at Dexter and Huntress Park. This fall, we will start fence and backstop renovations on multiple ball fields throughout the city. We hope to conclude the fencing/backstop projects early in the spring of 2027. Upgrades will be made to 5 fields in total with the project.

The Clay Center Parks and Recreation Department works to provide well rounded liesure and recreational programs for all ages to enhance the quality of life for the Clay Center community. Our mission is to provide the best recreational facilities, parks and public spaces the community will appreciate and enjoy for years to come.
