Specific Need
Dear Friends,
God has opened so many doors this year for the youth of Clay County to hear the Gospel. Over the past several years, our community’s youth have shown a growing hunger for Jesus Christ, and that shift is a direct result of your faithfulness and generosity. In light of this I'd love to share a bit of what God has done through PYM this past year, and invite you to join us in what's ahead.
Over the summer, we were able to bring 90 individuals to Student Life Camp in beautiful Cedar Hill, Texas! Each year, I find myself so thankful for Student Life Camp’s focus on making sure the Gospel of Jesus Christ is stated with great clarity. Far beyond being just a week of fun and games, these trips have proved each year to be times of deep reflection and engagement with the Scriptures. We could not attend this camp if it were not for your support – thank you for enabling our students to grow!
We were also able to have another intern this summer. Aiden Gordon worked tirelessly to build deep-rooted relationships amongst our students. This investment was a tremendous success. His presence created new spaces for discipleship and trust that many of our students had never experienced before. It was such a blessing, and we hope to continue this tradition next year by hiring another intern.
Our youth room continues to be a refuge and gathering place for students after school and throughout the week. This summer, we had students coming over to hang out at the church almost every single day. We were also blessed to have around 50 students diving into God’s Word each week last school year. We can’t wait to see all the ways God will continue to use our space for His glory this fall!
Mission
PYM exists to empower and encourage area youth and their families with the gospel of Jesus Christ so that we might all be transformed more and more into the image of God (2 Corinthians 3:16-18)
Profile
Our Core Beliefs
We believe the gospel of Jesus Christ is the heart of our ministry. For that reason, we hold to the following truths and seek to communicate them with great clarity to every student:
-
God’s Word Shapes Us
-
Scripture is inspired by God and is our ultimate authority for life and godliness (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21).
-
We desire to submit to and be trained by God’s Word in every area of life.
-
-
Jesus Christ Is the Only Basis of Our Salvation
-
Because of our sinfulness, we cannot earn or deserve God’s favor (Rom. 5:8; Eph. 2:8).
-
Jesus is fully God and fully man, who lived a sinless life on our behalf.
-
His death on the cross was intentional and sufficient to purchase forgiveness for our sins (Eph. 1:7; 1 Cor. 15:3; Heb. 2:9).
-
His resurrection was bodily and victorious, guaranteeing eternal life for those who believe (1 Cor. 15:20–22).
-
-
Salvation Is Received by Faith Alone
-
We are saved not by works, but through faith in Christ alone (Jn. 3:15–17; Rom. 10:9–13).
-
Faith leads to repentance, obedience, and a transformed life marked by gratitude.
-
The Christian walk is not pursued as self-help or moral improvement, but as thanksgiving for Christ’s redemption.
-
-
We Exist for God’s Glory
-
All of life is to be lived for God’s glory, whether at church, school, home, work, or in the community (Eph. 2:8–10; Lev. 11:45).
-
Believers are called to love God, serve others, and build up His Church.
-
Our lives bear witness to the hope of Christ’s return and the restoration of all things.
-
Our Vision
PYM seeks to form students who:
-
Leave our program with a clear and personal understanding of the person and work of Jesus Christ.
-
Bring spiritual-mindedness into every sphere of life.
-
Develop deep-rooted relationships with others in the community as a witness to Christ.
-
Are discipled by trained adult volunteers who model faithful Christian living.
