With a donation to Meadowlark Hospice you are helping provide care, comfort and support for those in our community. Donations are used to help support our hospice program, buy equipment and supplies, and provide services to individuals with the inability to pay. Whether through sharing your stories, attending support groups, or making a donation in honor of your loved one, your involvement will help us continue to thrive as a compassionate hospice community.
Donations received through the CCCIF Gather for Good Match Day will be used specifically to purchase new medical equipment that enhances comfort and quality of life for hospice patients at the end of life. Equipment wishes include low air loss mattresses for the hospital beds we provide, helping to maintain skin integrity and prevent pressure injuries. Funds will also support the purchase of gel and waffle cushions for wheelchairs and recliners to improve comfort while sitting. In addition, donations will help fund a new bariatric bed, ensuring we can safely and comfortably meet the needs of patients requiring specialized equipment. These investments will directly support our mission of providing compassionate, patient-centered care during life's final journey.
Mission
Our mission is to provide loving, compassionate care for those living with a life limiting illness.
Profile
When a person with a life-limiting illness no longer benefits from curative treatment and has a life expectancy of six months or less, hospice is available.
The hospice philosophy of care focuses on dignity and quality of life. The hospice team is available to provide relief for physical symptoms as well as care and support for emotional and spiritual issues.
Hospice does not hasten or delay death, but instead empowers and educates patients, their family and loved ones so that they create memorable moments during the time they have together. Hospice services can improve quality of life for as long as life remains. Taking advantage of services early maximizes the benefits of hospice. The best way to learn about everything hospice has to offer is to have a conversation with a trained hospice professional that can assist you in exploring all options available. Please call 785-632-2225 with any questions about hospice care or equipment.
