Specific Need

The world of education has changed dramatically over the past decade. There was a time when school districts might receive ten or more applicants for a single position. Today, many districts are thankful to have more than one.

At USD 379, that challenge is becoming even more important because nearly 30 percent of our teachers will be eligible to retire within the next five years.

That’s why the USD 379 Excellence Foundation was created — to find unique and meaningful ways to celebrate and elevate our staff, helping us recruit great people and keep the great staff we already have.

Through the Foundation, we recognize years of service, celebrate professional growth, welcome first-year teachers, and build staff connections. All of this is done with donations and grants because we cannot use taxpayer funds in this manner.

Also, the Excellence Foundation does not solicit donations from local businesses and organizations, who already give so much to our schools and community. Instead, we support local by purchasing our gifts from them.

On Match Day, we’re asking community members to help us invest in the people who make USD 379 such a special place.

Help us celebrate them, support them, and keep the best staff in Kansas right here in Clay County.
